What is an estate sale?

An Estate Sale is a way of liquidating the belongings of a family or estate. The most common reasons behind having or needing an estate sale are: downsizing, moving, divorce, bankruptcy, or death. The public is invited into the home during a designated time and given the opportunity to purchase any item that is for sale. The entire event is managed from start to finish by Haven Estate Sales so that you don't have to worry about a thing.

Are you insured?

Yes! Each estate sale is covered by event insurance paid for by Haven Estate Sales, Inc. Your homeowner policy should also remain active through the remainder of the sale. 

How do you price my items?

We have a wealth of experience in pricing items backed by research and market trends. We actively look up each item for pricing purposes with the goal of getting the client the best possible payout for their belongings. 

Can I be present in my home during the sale?

Can I remove items from the home once the process begins?

Why should I hire an estate sale company instead of handling this on my own?

We kindly request that our clients NOT be present during staging, pricing, sale days, and closing processes. We have found most success when clients, friends and family are not involved in our sale processes. We are always available to you if questions or concerns may arise. 

No. During our walkthrough and contract signing, the agreed upon items are what we are basing and booking the sale on. Removing items from the home impedes with our ability to host a successful sale. Haven Estate Sales reserves the right to cancel a sale if items are removed after the agreement has been made.

As a shopper, should I haggle on prices?

There’s no need for negotiations at Haven Estate Sales. We always price based on fair market value and can assure you you're getting the best deal possible! If there is something you have your eye on, but it's outside of your budget, keep in mind that the final days of the sale often are discounted.
